The FulaBula Fest was originally launched by Semisi to raise funds for the Lincoln Middle School Orchestra, where Semisi's sons, Keli and Tonga played. The FulaBula Fest quickly grew into a beloved community tradition. Over the years, it has supported music programs at Vista Academy of Performing Arts, Carrillo Elementary, Young Lions, MiraCosta College & Local HS Rugby Programs, and offered assistance to local families in need. More recently, it has benefited the nonprofit Kainga Music, which promotes music education and community outreach.

This year, in honor of the Festival’s 25th anniversary and Semisi’s birthday, all gifts and donations will go directly to support Semisi’s creative projects — including T-shirt designs, the recording of six new original songs, and travel costs for performances both inside and outside the U.S.

Professional San Diego musicians, many of whom have shared the stage with Semisi over the years, will be donating their time to perform throughout the day. Expect a lively mix of world beat, country, classic rock, Latin, originals, and progressive jazz, including Kainga Music.
